The Personal Data and Cookies Charter (hereinafter “Charter”) aims to inform you about the rights that you can exercise regarding the processing of your data and describes the measures that we take to protect these data.

TOTALENERGIES S.E. is the “data controller” of personal data relating to the management of the Website. Such processing is carried out in accordance with applicable law. 

1. Purpose and legal bases of collected data processing and period storage

By using the Website, you may need to provide us with a certain number of personal data such as first name, last name, email, country related to you in order to be able to: 

  • Submit an unsolicited application; 
  • Respond to a call for projects (or challenge);
  • Obtain an answer to your requests for information.

The collected information is necessary to enable us to contact you for a possible collaboration in accordance with the precontractual measures.

In our online forms, required fields are marked with an asterisk. If the mandatory questions are not answered, we will not be able to satisfy your requests and take your application into account. Your personal data will not be further processed in a manner incompatible with the purposes described above or in the collection forms. Your data is transferred to an internal open innovation platform, accessible only to authorized persons to enable us to process your application.

Your personal data is kept for the duration of the pre-contractual measures, unless your application is not retained. In this case, your personal data will be kept for a maximum period of two (2) years. At the end of this period, your data will be deleted.

2. Data recipients

In order to carry out the processing operations provided for in this Charter, your personal data may be communicated to certain departments of the data controller or to any other entity of the TotalEnergies Group, as well as certain IT service providers for the sole purpose of managing your application. 

3. Data transfers

Any transfer of data made towards a third country outside the Economic European Area is carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations and in such a way to ensure adequate data protection.

As part of the services provided on the Website, your personal data may be transferred to entities of the TotalEnergies Group. In order to ensure adequate data protection originating from the Economic European Area that may be transferred to TotalEnergies Group entities established outside the Economic European Area, Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) have been adopted. For transfers of personal data not covered by these BCR to countries outside the Economic European Area, other measures are implemented to ensure adequate data protection.

4. Security and confidentiality of your data

The data controller implements appropriate measures to preserve the security and confidentiality of your personal data, an in particular to prevent it from being distorted, damaged or accessed by unauthorized third parties.
